Dear Parents
As we come to the end of another academic year at Agincourt School I would like to thank you for your continued support through snow and shine.
The children have, as ever, made us extremely proud. The standard of work has been excellent often amazing visitors to the school. We are also noticed on school trips for our good behaviour and manners.
In drama, song, dance and sport we have seen the children excel. As our Year Two children leave us this week I know they will demonstrate these skills and talents as well as shine academically in their new schools and I wish them every success.
Our year has had many successful trips and events. We have visited farms, forests, museums, zoos, aquariums, not forgetting Techniquest. Our most recent events were enormous fun. The wildlife day is definitely a day to repeat. The Mock Wedding in Year One was an exciting day for all, not just the Wedding Party. The Reception was attended by the whole school in the orchard with wonderful food for all. The centrepiece was the ‘Cup Cake Wedding Cake’ beautifully made and decorated by Mrs Belcher. A big thank you to Mrs Belcher for all 140 cakes and to the parents who helped at the Reception.
Thank you all for your generosity in supporting our last two Charity events. The Barnardos’ Toddle raised £450 and the Kick for Clic football day raised £277.
I would also like to thank our Head Boy Edward Baker and Head Girl Yasmin Hay for performing their duties so well and being such a credit to the school.
We say goodbye to Miss Cumming this week as she is embarking on a new life in Australia. Miss Cumming has been a wonderful person and teacher in school and we will all miss her. Mrs Shepherd will return to full time teaching in September and we look forward to welcoming her back into Reception. Miss Crossley will return as Mrs Goodyer and I am certain will make a beautiful bride.
I hope you will all join us for the End of Year picnic and fair this Friday. There will be activities for children, stalls, and I believe a Pimms tent. Please bring your own picnic and enjoy the last day of the year.
I wish you all a super summer holiday and a fond farewell to parents and, of course, the children who will not be returning.
School resumes on Thursday 2 September.
Yours sincerely
Mrs E Thomas
