Dear Parents

Happy New Year!  I hope 2012 will be a good year for you all.

We have an exciting Spring term planned for the children with a special cross-curricular Science/Geography balloon day in Science Week.  This will not only be fun on the day but of great interest in the weeks following. 

We will celebrate St David’s Day with dancing from Year One Dance Club during our special Assembly.  I have booked our favourite Daylight Theatre Company to perform ‘Robin Hood’ for our end of term treat for the children.

As Sports Relief Week occurs during this term I thought it would be a great idea to organise a fun run on the last afternoon of term for staff, parents and children.  This will be a mile run on the sports field of Monmouth School followed by tea and cakes in the pavilion.  As someone who hasn’t run that far in years I will have to be doing quite a few pre-breakfast runs beforehand.

For those amongst us that really don’t fancy the run, don’t worry as we would love all parents and children to support the event in some way.  Full details will follow on this and the balloon day.

A quick reminder that Reception and Year One will be swimming on Friday afternoons this term.
