New Head of Agincourt

Mrs Jennie Phillips has been appointed Head of Haberdashers’ Agincourt School and Nursery

Jennie PhillipsThe Governors of Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools are delighted to announce that Mrs Jennie Phillips has been appointed Head of Haberdashers’ Agincourt School and Nursery. She will take up the post in September 2014 following the retirement of Mrs Liz Thomas this Summer after 11 years of distinguished service as Head.Mrs Phillips has a wealth of experience in developing, supporting and inspiring children. She has worked in the maintained and independent sectors in both co-educational and single-sex schools. She currently teaches at Badminton Junior School in Bristol, where she has been Head of Key Stage One and has co-ordinated the Early Years Foundation Stage team.A keen swimmer and cyclist,  Mrs Phillips is committed to building strong foundations on which children can grow and develop academically, physically and socially.Mrs Caroline Davis, Chairman of the Agincourt School Committee of Governors, said: “We look forward to welcoming Mrs Phillips and her family to Agincourt in September. She was selected from a strong field of candidates and I am confident that under her leadership Haberdashers’ Agincourt School and Nursery will continue to offer a happy, caring and inspiring environment which enables all children to develop a love of learning in their crucial first years at school.”

Mrs Phillips said “I am excited to be appointed as the next Head of Haberdashers’ Agincourt School and Nursery and am relishing the move to rural Monmouthshire with my family. I look forward to meeting parents and getting to know the children over the next few months.”
