Outdoor Classroom dayMay 18th, 2017
On Thursday we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day on which to celebrate Outdoor Classroom Day. The day began with a chance to climb a fantastic mobile climbing wall, with even some our three year olds being brave enough to take a turn. The Year 1 children then enjoyed some weighing and measuring in their courtyard classroom whilst the Year 2 children carried out some capacity experiments. Meanwhile our Nursery children were out in the Forest School area, working in teams to build their own dens. With all the hard work finished they all settled down to enjoy some hot chocolate whilst sitting proudly inside their creations. After lunch, and with only Year 2 left to climb, I found the Reception children building a huge fire engine from cardboard boxes. Year 1 were carrying out some Science investigations with ramps and Nursery were back out in the log circle area for some more fun and games. Year 2 were testing their helicopters on the bund and Reception were creating a human train with Mrs Clarke’s help.
There was just about time for some of staff to have a quick turn on the wall before we finished off the day with a story in sunshine. Happy days indeed.
