Reception trip to newport wetlands

June 8, 2016
The Reception children enjoyed an excellent trip to Newport Wetlands on Tuesday. As well as seeing a real lighthouse the children used nets to fish for  some very interesting species of water creature which they identified using charts. The children had a close look at their findings before returning them to their natural habitat. Thank you to Tara who presented lots of interesting information to the children in a very fun and age-appropriate manner. After lunch the children set off on a minibeast hunt and also spotted a very rare bearded tit nesting in the reeds. The children returned to school full of excitement and very keen to tell us everything that they had discovered.
