On Wednesday Year 1 had a fantastic trip to the SS Great Britain in Bristol. They were treated to two excellent workshops where the children had the opportunity to recreate the launch of the ship in full period costume. The Captain’s Trail took us on a full tour of the ship where the sounds, smells and visuals were almost too real for comfort! After trying out some dipping pens, experimenting with some shadow puppets and playing with some Victorian toys my supportive band of cheerleaders gathered on deck to encourage me as I climbed the rigging to the crow’s nest. A quick trip below ground to the dry dock rounded off a very busy day!
